Is The Pela Case Good?

Are Pela Cases Protective?

Just because the Pela case isn’t classed as a protective case, doesn’t mean it doesn’t protect your phone.
The phone case is made using a bioplastic elastomer (starch-based “plastic”) and flax straw. When combined, it provides the user with protection from scratches and small drops due to the shock-absorbing nature of flax shive. And it gets better!
The ridge along the edge of the phone case slightly protrudes over the phone; this is for two reasons. To start with, it helps secure the phone in place, and secondly, it means your screen will never touch the floor when dropped.
You can even add the Pela Canopy liquid screen protector to the mix, yes, you did read that correctly. The liquid can be added to the screen of your phone and distributed evenly. Once the liquid drys, it offers 10X the strength of your original screen.

Are Pela Cases Really Compostable?
Yes, and I can’t stress this point enough. Pela Cases are 100% compostable, and free of BPA, cadmium, phthalates, and lead. This means the compostable plastic will break down in your backyard compost heap, leaving nothing but nutrient-rich soil, which means no toxic material is left behind.
Now, it’s hard to put a time frame on how long their products will take to biodegrade fully. This is due to there being so many variable factors involved. The best they can do is put an estimated time frame of 6-months to 2-Years. However long it takes, one thing is for sure; it will degrade a lot quicker than your plastic phone case.
